Headend Forward Sweep Transmitter
The Viavi SDA-5500, a rack-mountable headend Forward Sweep Transmitter, is configured to receive returnpath-sweep-signals from the field. It enables technicians to conduct proactive and accurate tests for maintenance of CATV systems. The device measures the frequency response completely by injecting low-level signals into vacant channel areas in the forward downstream path.
When tuned to a specific channel, the unit provides information on Tuned Channel, Video Frequency and Level, Audio Frequency and Level, and Video and Audio Carrier Level Differences. It has functions in spectrum analysis, modulation measurement, and zero-span display.
